Take folic acid. Take
it from age 16 on. DON’T STOP TAKING IT
UNTIL YOU ARE SURE YOU ARE DONE HAVING BABIES. I know it’s a pill and it makes
some of you gag. Get over it. Not taking it can lead to way worse shit than
gagging- trust me.
Don’t eat tuna. Or
shark (they eat tuna). Ever. I know
it’s radical but they are ful of mercury, a highly toxic metal. I love, love, love me some
tuna sashimi, tuna roll, tuna tartar- I love it all, baby. But if I knew at 21 what I know now, I would’ve
gotten over it. Find another fish to love.
That’s just all there is to it.
Don’t live near smokestacks or other known air pollutants.
Leominster, Ma is considered the smoke-stackiest town in North America
and has an extremely high concentration of kids with Autism Spectrum
Disorders. You can't deny that one.
Don’t effing smoke cigarettes. Don’t live with people that smoke
cigarettes. I was a waitress and
bartender for 20 years. In the
first half of my “career”, I worked in many places where smoke was all
around me, all the time. The customers smoked, the staff smoked, lots of people smoked. I used
to strip of my clothes in the hallway because they smelled so nasty when I got
home after a shift. Hell, I even dipped
my toes in the cool pond of the menthol cigarette trend of the late 80’s and early
90’s myself, but I pulled my foot back ou (mostly). Menthol Cigarettes had long
been enjoyed by women, but there was a nice little push aimed at my age
demographic. I fell right for it. Capri, anyone? Whether or not you smoked that brand, the ad
still got ya.
And finally, some “Do’s”:
Do buy and eat organically. Pesticides are toxic. It is very
easy for them to be stored in our bodies and not be properly filtered out of your system. Organic also means that the seeds our foods
are grown from are not genetically modified.
If you don’t know why that is harmful, you need to.
Do demand whole foods, not processed and manipulated ones
for your body. Even our so-called fruit
cups are filled with chemicals. Eat a real pear- not a plastic cup filled with chemical preservatives, chemical
sweeteners and chemical colors with only a 1/3 of a serving of real fruit. You’d have to eat three of those to equal a
pear. Just eat a pear. Please.
Do insist on having FLAWS.
It’s the way we were meant to be.
Pay attention to the Foods
you eat, the Love that you
give, the Air that you breathe, the Water you drink and the way that you handle Stress. We take for granted these basics requirements
for human development. It is a lesson
that needs to be learned BEFORE it affects your future. Learn it from the start and make it your way
of life.
